World magazine names Warren Cole Smith associate publisher
World magazine has named veteran journalist and businessman Warren Cole Smith to be the publication's associate publisher. In this newly created role, Smith will be responsible for public relations and development for the magazine.
"World has a first-rate team of writers and editors who have been telling other people's stories for the past 20 years," said World Publisher Nick Eicher. "Now, Warren will help us tell our story to donors, strategic partners, and the American public. He brings to us a mix of contacts, business experience, and energy that will complement the current World management team."
Smith has more than 25 years of experience as a writer, editor, publisher, and businessman. Immediately prior to joining World, he was a freelance writer and public relations consultant. He is the author, editor, or co-author of 10 books on topics ranging from Christian apologetics to leadership development.
World magazine is a former member of the Evangelical Press Association, and was founded by Joel Belz, a former EPA president. Smith is the publisher of the Charlotte World, which was an EPA member before shifting to on-line only distribution, and is the owner of EP News Service, a weekly news service formerly associated with EPA.
